What does this smell mean?

I have noticed lately that when my truck gets warmed up, it starts to smell like propane or natural gas or something. Any ideas what would cause this? Do I need to be concerned? Maybe it just means I need a supercharger or some nice wheels or exhaust or something?!?!?!?

Probably the wheels. ha ha

Have you been buying your gas at a different place? Or maybe the winter blend.

Does it go away once the truck is fully warmed up? Ya know once the cats are hot.

jgger, I always notice it right when the truck gets warmed up, say a mile after I take off, and sometimes while I'm driving for a while as well. Do the cats make a smell like that? is that bad or normal?

It's probably the fuel you are using, the cats them self don't smell. They just burn off the bad stuff. So if the fuel you are using is perhaps a lesser grade (bargain priced) that may be what it is comming from. If the truck is running good and no issues or check engine light you are probably ok.

My 03 V-6 does it from time to time too.

Does it occur shortly after a meal at Taco Bell?

Sorry, camera's broke so I can't get any pics of the odor! No, it isn't really a sweet smell. My dad keeps telling me he thinks it's the cats, but the smell is not really sulphury either.
