Installing Factory Running Boards on a 2001 SC

I am going to put the factory running boards back on my 2001 Supercrew, the problem is that over the years the bolts that hold them on have disappeared. I need to know what size they are, any help would be appreciated. I did a search and came up with 5/16 bolts. Is this size correct? I also came up with a metric size bolt.

Do you still have the clips that the bolts thread into?? You could pop one out and see what size bolt you need.
Most of my clips got trashed when I took my boards off, planned on getting all new ones, but it's looking like the boards will stay off, no matter what the wife says.

I put them back on today. The bolts are 8mm X 1.25 X 30. I found them at a local parts store after going to the nearest Ford dealer to double check the bolt size. The Ford dealer didn't have them in stock.
