I took my truck to get is inspection in texas. On the way, I plugged my son's fisherprice tv into the cigarette lighter. Well, somehow, it blue the fuse.

When the went to do the inspection, they got no reading from the onboard computer. they helped me diagnose to this point and then I put in a new fuse.

Well, after they plugged in the diagnostic reader, the "service engine soon" message showed up on my dash and my onboard computer shows about 8 errors. We assume that the computer needed to be reset like after changing the battery and have driven it around for more then 10 miles.

the "service engine soon" msg continues to show on the dash even after restarting engine. the center said that as long as this msg is on, the truck will fail emissions test in texas.

Any ideay what the likely problem is? Or, do I need to bite the bullet and take it to the dealership?

They will be like P0174 (one letter and 4 digits). Post the exact numbers-not what auto zone says needs to be done.
