You are correct. I tried to order Chestnut/Gold in Jan. and was told by the dealer it wasnt available in Lariat! In Feb. i got the SuperCrew brochure from Ford and it clearly says on back that Chestnut not available for Lariat. This was confirmed on several web sites. However, FordVehicles.com now lets you custom build the SuperCrew and Chestnut is available. You have entered order so you know all this. I was just trying to help.

On Order - 01' SuperCrew Lariat, Deep Wedgewood CC, Two tone/Harvest Gold, 5.4L, 3.55LS.

Virginian,

I looked at my brochure when I got home and you are correct. It is not in there. I touched base with the dealer and he said it must have been added after the brochures were printed. He said my truck is definitely on its way. He has not heard of any hold up on the two-tone paint. He said he gets an update on any holdups each week and has not seen anything stating a problem, but will check on it. When is the problem supposed to be cleared up?

Thanks for the info

VIRGINIAN,

I'VE GOT THE "2001 DEALER ORDER RECEIPT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT" FROM FORD AND IT STATES:

F150 4X4 CREW CAB LARIAT
B4/B2 CHESTNUT CLEARCOAT W/HARVEST GOLD CLEARCOAT ACCENT.
I CHECKED AT WWW.FORD.COM AND IT PROVIDES THE OPTION FOR THESE COLORS FOR A LARIAT. SO DOES WWW.KELLEYSBLUEBOOK.COM. LOOK AT THE PICTURES ON THIS WEB SITE AND YOU WILL SEE A CHESTNUT LARIAT W/HARVEST GOLD ACCENT.

I DON'T KNOW WHY YOUR BOOK DOES NOT OFFER THIS.

I guess I'll take the honor of posting the highest admitted price paid DAMN!!!

It took me 3 hours to get them to move from MSRP!!!

I finally struggled my way to $700 over invoice and all accessories at sales dept cost (whoopie!).

These trucks are screaming off the lot here in San Diego. I was this close (pinching fingers) to paying 32.5K

Finally down to 30.6K (See below for what I got-plus 6cd changer/slider---really everything but the a/v system, moonroof, cab steps, and bed extender) Invoice was 29.9K-MSRP 34.6K

One piece of advice, if you even THINK you want cab steps/bed extender, order them with the truck. They are over twice as much from the parts dept!!!!!!

Good job to all you superHagglers. I have to add that my '91 Aerostar blew a piston rod and I was without wheels (desperate). Talk about piston slap!!! lol Best thing that ever happened to me.

1st SuperCrew Don't feel bad, $700 over invoice isn't a bad price. I hear dealers are charging $2000 over msrp, up here in Orange County. $700 dollars is close to 3% recommended fair dealer profit. Enjoy!

There is a reason this truck is called "SCrew".
I think it has something to do with how much you pay vs how much you get.
BUT - they sure are cute.

Find yourself a fleet salesman. Then go see him or her! No haggling at all. My deal:

Turned in my 98 ranger on a lease- 9,000 miles over the limit and FOUR months early. (SHOULD have owed some major cash!!)

MSRP for Oxford White,'01 XLT,4x4,5.4L,bench seat,singleCD,Limted Slip,Power seat,keyless remote,skid plates= $32,100

Actual fleet pricing: Brought it down to $29,200.
Dealer then GAVE ME $1200 for my over mileaged, early terminated (but in good shape) leased '98 Ranger. Then Ford gave me $500 rebate for leasing another Ford....and got extra mileage on this one for no extra charge. I sure could use it.

Dealer made some money for sure, but really stood out from the other dealers (including the original dealer I leased thru) when they wanted to pay me for my excess mileage. So I figure I broke even considering it is not quite $500-700 over invoice. But fleet guys who want to see you in that truck can work some good deals! (HINT: Ask your firefightin' or crime fightin buddies for their union/association's Ford connection)

Very happy with my Supercrew so far, and I dont get those shoulder cramps while sittin in this pick up! I wonder why that is! Oh yeah- your dog will love it! Especially if the dog is small, get the bench seats! Dogs love (Ford) Trucks.

Can someone give me the straight story on leasing. I was thinking about putting $7000.00 on a two year lease, so I can manage and affordable payment. I don't want to "rent" my future Supercrew, in fact I would like to buy it after the lease. However, If I lease the vehicle and get a truck that just was not made right, and has quality issues, I don't want to walk away from that vehicle, only to find out I can barely afford to lease another Supercrew two years later.

Whenever, I talk to dealers, I only get their side of the leasing story. I would like to hear from other owners, who have leased new vehicles. I can alway save more money, and buy a truck next year.
I think I am just leary of leasing. Anyone who can share their leasing experince with me?

Thanks

Al Bilton Ford in Holly Hill S.C. will order the Super Crew for you the way you want it and charge you $200 UNDER invoice. They charge the $18 gas charge (seems standard from other posts) and $130 advertising. Everything else is per Edmunds.
Mine:
2001 F150 SuperCrew
Lariat
5.4L V8
Captains Chairs
Limited slip
Class III towing group

$26,361 including dest & del.
They require a $500 deposit. Only good for ordered units. They claim 11-12 weeks for delivery.

Salesman Mike Buckley

SVAdams-

Is that a small dealer? My dealer here is saying 5 weeks for delivery. They are a pretty high volume dealer and maybe have greater allocation of units?
