Post Wheel width for 17's

I've had my SCrew for just about a year and I agree with many of you that have been slamming the Goodyears that came on the truck. Consequently, I'm going to be getting some new shoes for my baby very soon. I'm having difficulty determining the width of the 17 inch wheels that came on my Lariat.I'm assuming they're 8 or 8.5 but for shopping purposes, I need more than a guess. I'm sure somebody here will have the answer.I'd also be interested in hearing what some of you other folks with similiar setups, have gone with for new tires. I'm thinking something a bit taller than the stock. 285's, 305's???? Any input would be appreciated.

The rims is 7.5" wide.

Good luck finding taller tires for your 17" rims. Only ones I have seen are the ProComp 33x12.5x17s They will be going on my baby end of summer.

Look at Jupiterak's truck for an idea how big they are... keep in mind he has a lift (and one sweetheart of a truck)

DROOL!

Hope this helps

I am a goodyear tire dealer. If you look on the left door post it tells you that the stock rim size is 17 x 7.5 I call Goodyear tech. center and they said not to put a 305 on that wheel because you would get a vibration that you could not get ridd of! Don't go to BIG!!!!!
