Spend the extra money and get the Trenz. I just got mine installed, and I absolutely love it. (If had the time or inclination I could have done it myself, but for $60 I had the guys with experience do it). It's got more, finer cross bars, with solid billet that doesn't taper. It's about $30 more than a Stull and others, but you can really see the difference.

Got the Stull and it requires no cutting other than plastic tabs that hold OEM honeycomb grill in place. I had ordered the SteelHorse at first but when it arrived was unhappy with its quality.

Thanks for the opinions so far. I had noticed that the Stull grille seemed to be a popular one. I'll check it out, along with the trenz.

More opinions, please!

Question Billet Grille - Which one to get??

I definitely want to change the grill on my SCrew but am not sure which is the best to install. I ordered the Steel Horse Billet Grille but didn't realize I'd have to cut it to fit. Are there any that are already made to fit and look great??
Thanks!

I have been real happy with My Black Stull billet grille.

Crew Coach,
I was able to put mine in without even cutting the tabs. My truck is on a lease and should I opt not to buy at the end of my term
I can put all things back the way it was.

My SuperCrew doesn't have a chrome shell piece, rather mine is black, so I've been trying to find something that wasn't a chrome billet. That black one by stull loooks sharp.

Where'd ya get it? how much? Thanks.

Keep Rollin'

CanadianSCrew,
Can you direct me to the post where you describe your installation, not cutting the tabs, of your black grille? I searched but couldnt find. Thanks!

ELKTAGAZ,

A far as installing without cutting the tabs,
I followed the stull instructions as far as taking the lights out and the grille off.
After that it says to cut the tabs that hold the grille in the surround. After the grille is out you can file the cut tabs down til flush with the edge of the surround.

Instead Do this:
The surround has some large tabs with a catch at the end. The grille has 2 small tabs for each large tab on the surround. When these where put together at the factory the grille was inserted so that each set of small tabs slide over the large tab. One on each side. When they push down the small tabs hook behind the big tab and will not come back out. What I did was to take 2 very small straight blade screw drivers. You need to pry one in on each side of the big tab and now by twisting then slightly the screwwdrivers will spread the small tabs away from the big one. You may need more hands but at this point you can pull back on the grille past the point where the 2 tabs hook on the big on. Repeat this for each set of tabs around the grille. Keep some pulling or pressure on the grille or some of these may snap back into place. when they are all loose simply lift the grille out of the surround. I was able to do this without any scratches or damage to the grille or surround. When you put the new grille in there will be some flexability to let the tabs slide between the slats in the billet grille. If you look close you will see them but you would have to know what you are looking for.

Hope this helps but its hard to explain.

Tray,

Do you have the part number for your black Stull grill? I called the store and the guy couldnt find it, only had 2000 F150's. He's checking around for me though. The website didn;t list it either.
Thanks

Question

What lights do you take out when installing the Stull grille insert? The reason I ask is that I have markers installed on my front side lights. Would that interfer with the removal of the shell piece? Do you remove the lights from the front, under the truck, or from within after opening the hood?
