Question Glastite 2000

Anyone have a Glasstite 2000 CH cap on their Screw?

I really like the back window feature and was wondering if it would work with the bed extender.

Can't help you on the topper compatability as I don't have a bed extender(but am somewhat interested in one).I do have a Glasstite Targa Topper, ordered it and was waiting for my truck(ordered that also).Have had alot of compliments on the truck and topper in my one week of ownership. It really compliments the look of the vehicle. Looked at A.R.E.(another $$$ topper) also,it was a tough choice........................................2001 Screw 5.4 4x2 Arizona beige

I have one

I will try & post a picture later today (If I can find the ones I already have taken).

I got mine several months ago (April May time frame)

It had to be sent back due to defects in the paint job, over spray on the headliner carpeting & a bad window clamp rail & the color was not quite right.

Took about 2 weeks to get it back. The color match was better, but there was still some over spray on the headliner (actually more then originally!).

The topper shop was able to remove the over spray & the took a window clamp rail off a different topper. What a PITA!

Glasstite does offer a lifetime warranty on the paint job so if any more problems develop, back it goes again!

The single push button to open the glass is nice & the slam shut works too. With the hinges up top, the rear opens completely out of the way.

I have the SteelHorse version of the bed extender & it works just fine with the topper installed. I use a small bungee cord to hold the bed extender up when I need to load stuff under it. (I also have a BedRug installed)

The only thing I don't like about it is the reduced visibility out the back. With the single push button, there is less room for glass back there. Also with the tint, it can be next to impossible to see out the rear when backing up in the dark so I rely upon the side mirrors.

Other then that, I really like it.

I also got the 12V light & sliding glass on the sides & front. It set me back in the neighborhood of $900.

Oh, one other thing. At least on the version I got, you can get in the topper, even when locked as there is some flex in the topper back where you can pull it away from the truck, stick your hand up there & manually unlock each side. To defeat this, you need to install a cover over the rods so you can not reach it this way. I even showed this to the guys at the topper shop. They said they would communicate this to Glasstite & gave me a cover from a different brand so I could modify it to cover the rods.

2 people can remove it off the truck if they have enough arm strength due to the height of the truck bed & the weight of the topper. (Myself & my wife has done it once, but it was a struggle for her & she is not some tiny delicate flower! )

If I had it to do again, I would either stick with this topper or maybe go with an ARE.
(I do like the looks of the topper in this thread (My truck is the same as this one except for the rims): https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ghlight=topper)

Here are 2 picx

As it is dark when I get home, I am posting 2 picx from May. I don't have one with the hatch closed or with the bed extender, but it does fit and can be moved or even removed w/o removing the topper.

Side view with lid open:

Rear view with lid open: (enough room to stand in!)
