Not bashing or anything, but they both don't look as good as the F150 Super Crew.

I just noticed today that a dealer by my work has an Avalance parked out in front (hard to miss!). I don't know what GM's designers are up to, but IMO that is one ugly vehicle! Not as bas as the Aztek, but definitely not my style. I don't see how they're going to sell 100,000 units in a year. I believe it's taken Toyota several years to sell that many Tundra's.

FWIW, they also had the new 1500HD's and 2500HD's. I checked them all out and test drove a Duramax 2500HD CC 4x4 while I was there. While a powerful truck, I plan on keeping my SCrew for quite some time.

From factory:
2001 White 4x4 SuperCrew (Lariat), 5.4L, limited slip, skid plates, towing pkg, captains chairs, CD changer

Add-on's:
SuperChip; Black Westin Nerf Bars; Husky Mud Guards (F&R); Beige CatchAll's (F&R); Line-X bedliner; Eagle 121-series 16x8 polished wheels w/ American Racing centercaps; 285/75-16 BFG AT-KO tires

Plans:
Intake; Exhaust; Shocks

I think the Dodge will be more of a threat to the SCrew than anything else.

Isnt that GMC longer than the SCrew? I know I dont want a longer truck!

Here's a link on 02 Dodge.

I saw an Avalance out in the sand dunes at Pismo Beach last weekend. In my opinion it was UGLY, but just my thoughts. My Supercrew looked much better in the sand!

Typical GM, take a little sheet metal skin and add a ton of plastic moldings to give it shape. No thanks! I agree, Dodge will be more competitive, but still won't win. I can't wait till we can have the V6 diesel.

Well that Dodge ain't much to look at, either. (Maybe I'm biased... ) Just looks like a slightly longer quad-cab to me.

My buddy at work took delivery of his new HD2500 Duramax Extended Cab yesterday and told me to take it to lunch today to see how it was. Well it's got plenty of *****, and actually rides pretty nice, but boy what a lot of noise inside the cab. Stickered over 41,000 with no moonroof or 6 disc changer. Can tow 13,000 lbs. Still it looks like a 86 Chevy. He loves it, coming from a Dodge Ram V-10 into it. Not bashing, but was glad to drive my beast home. P.S. It sits lower to the ground than my F-150 Screw. Wassup with that?

Thumbs down

I'm sorry but I mean to bash Chevy designers! LOL! That is one freaky looking truck or whatever it is. There is no way they will sell 10k units a year let alone 100k of that plastic looking mess. WOW, I'd be embarrased to drive it let alone tell that I paid over 30k for it. YIKES!

Also, the GMC Crewcab still looks like it was made in the early 1980s. Somebody is sleeping on these design teams.

Ford still makes the best looking truck on the planet..Period, end of story!

Saw an Avalanche the other day in front of the liquor store. Man you would have to be drunk to buy one of those. And this coming from someone who has been a GM man up until I got my SCrew. I liked the concept when I first heard about it, but seeing it in person really disapponted me, but made me smile with pride when I looked back at my truck!!! Just wish Ford would boost the power a little to keep up with the bow ties.

Cool

A dealer by my house has four of them sitting on his lot. I have been reading about these things for some time now, and thought I would stop and give them a look. Well, I personally don't get it. This thing looks like the offspring of the "Silverado" and the "Pontiac Aztec". Not a pretty combination.
I thought the inside looked OK, but man! I was a bit embarrassed standing next to it. I almost felt a bit sorry for the poor thing. The inside back panel opening was kind of cool. Although it made me wonder about rattles, in a number of years.
All in all I don't think it's anything I would consider as a serious option.

I did however notice, not one salesman approached me. Don't know if they saw me drive up in my Screw, or they saw the smirk on my face while checking that "thing" out.

Only down side is more people will be driving trucks like ours. I guess it's better to run with the many than to.......umm well, be laughed at by the many.

Just my opinion :^D

Yikes!!
