Post What's a Fair Price for used Screw?

Pricing a used 2001 Model Srew, needed some help. Found a one owner XLT with about 18,000 miles on it. Green with 5.4 L engine, 17"wheels, captain chairs, factory bed-liner, towing package,....etc.... not to sure on all of the options. I was so impressed with the truck, wasn't able to get the cob-webs out of my head. It was in excellant, excellant shape. Owner did say when he special ordered the truck he got all of the options that a Lariat would have except the leather seats. Any help out there on a fair price? Can't find to many used ones for sale around this area.

We just traded our XLT 4x2 with 17k miles and got $23500 from the dealer. I'd suspect a fair price from a private seller would be $24-26500.

I would look at all the options and "build" the same vehicle at Edmund's, Carsdirect or other site which provides invoice pricing. I would subtract about 4-5,000 from that "invoice" price. Also be aware of the variances between the 3 Generations of S-crew and decide if this is the one you want.

ps "Build" one to your specs and see what it would cost you new. You will be able to find a dealer to order you one at/near invoice. You may be better off with the used one,but I don't think you can come to a fair price without knowing the true cost of a new one.
