Cool For those wanting L tails

For those of you who want a set of the lightning tails, here is the person to contact.

www.oemfordparts.com

Theresa Valley
Internet Sales Manager

I was going to order some from fordpartsonline.com, so I called them about the price and to order some. First they don't take Amex, second they gave me a BS line that Ford increased the price from about $30 each to about $160 each, but that they had mixed sets and would sell me a set right then for $150 plus shipping. Theresa can get you a set, take about 3 weeks, for about $60 plus shipping. She checked yesterday, and her parts manager said that the price had not increased as far as he knew. I ordered a set today, and am waiting for them to ship.

That is where I bought mine and definitely recommend Theresa. Called her up to phone order my rear lights and she even had the part number memorized. With tax since they are located in the same state, it was very reasonable. She told it would take about 3 weeks and before I knew it, UPS was knocking on my door short of 2 weeks.

Adamski,
I hate to disagree but, I've had outstanding service and prices from the guy's at http://www.fordpartsonline.com They have also been very helpful with questions I've had about installation of parts I've purchased from them.

Our information is correct about the new Ford pricing on the Lightening lamps. If another dealer is telling you otherwise it is because they have failed to read the bulletin (0386) Ford sent out to all dealers on May 1st. The only way they can sell them for the old price is if they had stock on hand prior to May 1st or by selling them below their current cost.

If you can purchase them at the old price then by all means do it but don't just rely on them telling you they will have them in 3 weeks. Get a commitment on the price. If not we will continue to sell our available stock at less than current pricing but supplies are limited on both headlights and taillights.

Thank you - www.fordpartsonline.com

Unhappy

Just called oemfordparts.com - Theresa was out today. However, person on the phone did say there was a price increase going into effect. I was hoping to order before that took place, but it looks like I am too late. Oh well, I guess when they quit selling so many of them, the price might go down again. Supply and demand, baby!!!

I ordered mine from a local ford dealer in Atlanta about two weeks ago. The guy (parts manager) said they would arrive there in a couple of days. I called a week later, to check on them, the girl working the counter tells me "oh, we've got 10 sets on backorder",. Two weeks later, I'm still waiting... I hope they honor the price, seeing as they already have my 68 bucks.

Question

LightningCrew:
Do you have any pictures of your truck? I am thinking of doing the L front end as well and was wondering how yours came out???

In my situation the people at www.oemfordparts.com were much more helpful. They have given a lower price, and been better about contacting me. I'm still waiting on a reply to numerous emails at "the other place." If anyone had good luck with them, great! I didn't!!!

n6van, No I don't have any pictures yet. We just moved and I still have not set up my home computer to download pictures. I will try and get some up next week - will give me a chance to use my new digital camera.

As far as the truck goes, I love it!!! I had the dealer do all the work before I took delivery. Total cost parts and labor was around $1100. And boy does it turn heads!!! Of course I have to explain all the time that it does not have the L engine (yet), but everyone really likes the way it looks. I was disappointed when I could not get factory fogs unless I bought a 4X4, so I figured this was the easiest way to do it.

Once again, I will try and get some pictures up by the end of next week.

"A DAY LATE AND $101 SHORT..."

I just called Theresa Valley at OEMFORDPARTS.COM and she apologetically said "Oh dear...we just received a bulletin yesterday and the price for the lights has been increased to $161.67". (a mere 182% price increase).

UPDATE.....

I went to the local Ford dealer in Glendora, CA and special ordered and paid for the Lightning tails yesterday. With a 10% AAA discount, the price for the pair was $85+tax. Apparently they didn't get their bulletin about the price increase yet.

If you've got a burnin' desire to get the L-tails, check your local dealers' price.

Howdy!

Guess again everyone! Better check the source of your information.

I spoke to Southwest Ford in Weatherford, TX (aka www.oemfordparts.com) and was told that the price increase is definitely in effect. I was further told that "I will have to contact the 3 who have ordered the light sets and tell them that we will not be able to sell those at that price once they come in".

I live 45 mins from Southwest and was ready to go over there, slap down some cash, and drive away with a new look. This is really ticking me off. Almost $400 for a set of headlights and corners?! WTF?!

I'm getting a Camaro after graduation..

182% Price increase, $%^##*^%ing Ford Motor Company, again they shoot themselves in the foot.

When nobody is buying them, and they have an overstock on hand, because they WERE selling so well, but with the price increase, no one buys, the price will come down.

HELLO FORD are you picking up on this????

I spoke to Gary today at fordpartsonline and he told me about this site. The price on these tail lights has definately gone up, and I was able to get a set from their old stock for less than the new retail.
Thanks to Gary and the guys over there at fordparts!
I think they said that there were a few sets left if any of you guys want a set before it's too late!
