all this talk about the a/c got me to thinking a bit more about my truck. always within a few seconds of startup, i can hear and feel a slight thunk, as if the a/c compressor has kicked in. doesn't matter what position i have the climate control **** set at, i always get this momentary noise/vibration. i'm presuming it is the a/c compressor kicking in. can anyone comment on whether or not this is the case? according to my owner's manual the a/c compressor cycles on/off in every setting except "panel" or "floor" and by the feel of the air coming out of the system during these settings, this seems to be true. however, i still can't explain the "thunk" that occurs everytime i start the vehicle. anybody wanna chime in?

Cool

Predator: My Ranger was different. You could turn it on or off at any temp or vent setting. You just pushed the blower **** in and a little A/C light came on. That was the best, most simple HVAC I've ever seen or used. I miss that...

Question

Could you put Navigator heating/cooling controls in a SCrew? You would then have a smart automatic control system.

"To shorten this story basically you have a very sophisticated automatic climate control with really dumbed down dials!! We all have the same system running in the background as the automatic systems in the Navigator!"
