Has anyone put a rear sway bar on their Supercrew?
I looked for posts on the suspension message board but didn't find any specific to Supercrew.
I'm sure the rear end is the same as a SC.

Just got back from the Ford Dealer. They had both a Lightning and a Harley SuperCrew side by side. I crawled under both trucks to determine if the sway from the L would fit onto the HD. The shocks appear to be in the same location. Only area I'm not sure about is the exhaust. The L is before the rear tire & side exit. The HD is over the rear axle. Any one else?

Hey guys...
Just ordered my Helwig Anti Sway bars.
The guys at "Les Schwab" had to do some digging...and Helwig just came out with them.
1-1/8th thick.

Down side...their expensive, $230.00 each.
I'm assuming they are, since I see others going for alot less??
Will try to get the part #, and post it...

Late....

The SuperCrew is different in the rear end. The passenger side rear shock comes out in front of the axle. On the regular cab & SuperCab 4X4 & 4X2, both shocks go out behind the rear axle. The shock mounts differ on each side of the axle to accomodate the SCrew.

Good point fireman467. I did observe however that the passenger side shock mounting bracket differs from the drivers side in that it has a mounting hole behind the axle as well as the front where the shock is mounted. I'm wondering if the shock can be moved. Anyone?

I did notice the bracket on the axle and the hole for the shock up on the frame. I'd take a look at a regular cab or extended cab to compare the upper brackets. I think it could be easily switched.
I wonder why Ford changed the shock position on just the SCrew. What difference does it make having that shock in front of the axle? Anyone?

I can't quite comprehend why you'd want to put aftermarket swaybars on a SCrew. Try driving an Expedition, now that's a vehicle that needs help. Our SCrew rode, drove, and handle perfectly compared to our new Expy. Trailering was absolutely no problem.

Hey Rob_NC...the short answer to your question is...because we can?!.

Actually, you are correct, the Screw is a great handling truck compared to the Expy. Compared to a Lightning maybe not. It's all relative you know. If a little is good...is a lot better?

Thumbs down

I tried, but unless Hellwig came up with a better solution it will not work. See this link - https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001481.html
