Post Snug Top or A.R.E. hard cover lid? You decide

I want a hard cover lid for my Screw and narrowed it down to two brands. Please reply which hard cover lid I should purchase. The first brand that receives 5 recommendations is the one I will choose.

Thanks, Ken

A.R.E.

I think it makes the Screw look even bigger and beefier but keeps the 'truck' appearance. It's lockable, matches your existing paint, hinged and it's aerodynamic...what more can you ask for?

A.R.E. will give you more room and its easier to access, I have had many instances where added height has allowed me to shut the cover. I am totally satisfied with ARE but the snuglid is eyecatching. Good Luck.

Thumbs up

A.R.E, I've had the a.r.e. for 7 months and couldn't be happier. To me there is no contest, the snuglid is just plain jane, not to hurt anybody's feelings. The a.r.e. top is heavy duty and the paint is excellent. Good luck.

Cool

The looks are totally different on the two tops, pick the one that looks best to you. I picked the ARE LS II. At first I didn't like the hump, but my truck is black nad the hump really isn't that noticeable in that color. The quality of the top is first rate, I would also get the optional carpted liner for the underside. It gives it a nice finished appearance. The locks on it are also of high quality. They even have a remote locking option, that I am going to look into once I get some time to drop by the dealers again. Hope this helps, take care.

I looked at both, read many postings on this site and selected the ARE LSII. I couldn't be more delighted- you just can't beat the quality. And, I LIKE the hump... gives it a little flair.

By the way, I had the dealer install a couple of lights to illuminate in the interior at night- makes a huge difference. Also, I like got the carpeted underside-- another nice touch.

Thanks to those who replied. The votes are in and I'll go with an ARE lid. Sorry Snuglid, no recount here.

Srewyou, Before you decide let me throw in a third suggestion. I looked at the ARE LSII and liked it's styling but not the big ugly handle on the back. I inquired at Snuglid, for I liked it also, but after three tries trying to deal across country with no satisfaction, I was ready to give up.Then I went and looked into a Leer 700 Series. They just made the mold a week before I ordered mine for the SuperCrew. I'll have one of the first of these on a Screw. It looks very similar to the ARE LSII only the raised section waterfalls over the back edge. Also it has ONE Button on the back edge to press to open it. Got it at Cap World for $699.00 with carpeted liner and installed. Look into it before you decide.

ScrewKing, I went to the Leer site to take a look at the 700 series. I like the look and style. Too bad that they showed the 700 series on a SportTrac. I was planning on ordering the ARE until you directed my attention to the Leer lid. I'll hold off ordering for now until I further check into the quality of Leer products compared to ARE. Anyone have any comments on the quality between the two companies.
