Thumbs down Lariat Rims

I just got a 2WD SuperCrew Lariat. I was messing around and noticed the nice, chrome rims are nothing more than chrome-looking plastic on top of a grey steel rim. Anyone else think this is CHEAP?!?!
What is the telephone number to call Ford and complain?

I agree, very cheap. They look fine from a distance but up close you can tell it's just a plastic cover. I've had alot of comments about why Ford went with these plastic rims. I only wished I could have gotten the other 17" spoke rims. One would have thought that the Lariat would have come with better wheels.

I'm really glad I opted for the off road package with my lariat...Not only are those rims cheap, they also don't look as good as the other wheels offered IMHO.....

Exclamation

I replaced the stock 17" rims on my 97 Flareside 4X4 with 16" custom tims. I still have the original saw blade style that came on it. I may end up changing to them, but I just wish they were chromed(anyone know who will chrome rims and how much it would be to have them done?).

It sounds like another excuse to customize again(as if I need an excuse)!!!

Thumbs up

Fireman.....I know several people who have done business with Capital Wheel, all have been very satisfied. They have an exchange program where you keep your stock wheels until your new ones arrive. Once your stock wheels are received they refund the core charge (deposit), very cool.

www.capitalwheels.com

Above all they do excellent work and stand behind it.

Question

Fireman467 - I noticed that you have the Roadmaster Active Suspension System - does it perform as expected? . . . would you do install it again?

I can't speak much on the suspension. I only have 150 miles on my Supercrew. 75 of them were from the drive home with it(all interstate). I was out of town for a week, then returned and installed the suspension.
I will say so far, I really think it is a really good product and a worthwhile investment. My truck does seem to corner much better now. I don't know about a load yet.

Fireman,
You have had the roadmaster for a bit now and I am wondering how they are performing. Do you also have a sway bar or considering installation of one? My roadmaster shpuld be here any day now.
