Question Snuglid by Snugtop

Does anyone have one of these hard cover lids? Can you take them on and off? Are they watertight? Last, but not least... how much did you pay? When I ordered my S'Crew, the dealer said he could get a lid for $649... now that it's on its way.... the price is $799. Typical....

I have been shopping for lids and as far as I can tell $649 is a good price. In fact, the best price I have been able to find is $659 for a SnugLid. Where did you get quoted that price? Need some more haggling power!

I'm looking at the snug as well but have been quoted over $700 without the clamping system. Where are you getting a $659 quote?

The dealer quoted the original price of $649 for a hard lid, but never specified that it was a "SnugTop." So, now that it's gonna run $799, I was just wondering if that was a fair price, and how this brand stacks up against some of the other options.

I was qouted $640 installed for the drill in application here in los angeles. I had called snugtop for information and a local dealer list that they sent me with a $20 coupon so my lid cost me $620 plus tax.

Grumps,
I've got the SnugTop lid on my SCrew. Love it. It's got these funky key chain type rings that hold the lid on the hinges, but you can just replace them with clamp type rings. Other than that, it takes about 3 min. and another body to get the thing off. It's very water tight too. I've run it through a car wash with my luggage in the back. Not a drop of water will get in. The lid fits over the edge of the bed and has a large rubber seal which goes all the way around it. Looks very clean. The reason for the high price is you can't just go buy one off the shelf, they have to paint it with your paint code for a perfect match. I know I'm starting to ramble on here, but you'll also notice a slight increase in gas mileage as well. The only drawback I've found with this lid is when you have it up at night it will block the cargo light. I solved that by installing a couple of small flouresent (sp) lights in the bed. Hope this helps.

Good Luck

Love my snuglid. I have taken it off once and the hardest part is putting it some where that it wont get scratched. It is a two man job to get it off. I think I paid $659 plus $30 for instalation.

Hey...We are pratically neighbors! I am currently trying to determine which hard lid to buy. I really like the looks of yours! Where did you buy it? We should hook-up one day. Gotta like that Silver!

I have a Snug-Lid, like it, don't love it yet!

Just make sure when you grt it, it has the "finished edge" option. That way the lower edge is totally smooth and painted. It also means no UGLY black plastic trim glued to the bottom edge, like MOST of the other SCrew lids.

Well Guys - I decided on the STOCKLAND lid. The price was right and after comparing the Stockland with the Snuglid I really didn't see any major difference between the two. Going to have it installed this Saturday. I will post a photo as soon as it's on.
