Just take the antenna off and pull the ball off with some pliers, cut the antenna with a hacksaw or sidecutters and put the ball back on and paint it. Works fine and saevs you some $

Are you sure you can just cut it? I thought it had to be a certain length for a reason. That's why most of the shorter aftermarket ones have a spiral in them, to make up for the length......I thought.....I have the same problem, keeps hitting the darn door!

Mine hit also but its safer to keep it long I think. Its kind of a guide for me when I go into parking garages If the antena fits so do I. If it touches I check my clearance.

Guys,
I cut mine off, and reattached the little ball. Gave it a shot of black paint, and it works just as well as it did at full length. In fact, you can't tell it's been altered, accept for the new length. I left mine about an inch higher than the cab, for that early warning notice.
If you would rather not snip your antenna, they sell shorter ones.
