Post SkidPlates

Are there any SkidPlates on the Screw 2001 XLT if you don't get the Offroad option?

No, you have to order them seperately if you do not get the Off Road Package.

Yeah, I'd like to know what's up with this "Off-Road Package"...is there such a beast, or are people calling the typical 4x4 package ORP? My 4x4 has skidplates and the 3.55LS, the class 3 towing group...and all that jazz. Only thing different I can see from today's newer Screws is the Off-Road sticker on the tail (my GenII just has the 4x4 sticker).

I checked Ford's site and there is an optional "Suspension Package" which includes:

- P265/70R17 OWL All-Terrain Tires
- 17" Cast Aluminum Wheels (XLT/Lariat)
- Skid Plates (Fuel Tank, Transfer Case & Frame Front Member)
- Heavy-Duty Shock Absorbers
- "Off-Road 4X4" Decal
- 3.55 Axle

Now, I don't have 17" wheels so am I missing something or is this package separate from the 4x4 version I have?

azwebguy,

Looks like you have a 4x4 with just the skid plates added. The ORP should have everything you posted.

My XLT 4x4 (see sig)came with the small funky 255/70/16 tires, not the 17" wheels and related tires. Has anyone with the 4x4 xlt got the smaller wheel pkg like me??

My Gen I 4X4 has the 17" Tires (that was a must), 3.55LS, Class III Towing grp, etc, but no Skid Plates. I didn't really realize it 'til I got it home (hey, you know how excited YOU were to get yours home!). If I'd have noticed, I would have had him add it to complete the pkg. When mine was built (7/00) the ORP wasn't yet born. Ah well, no complaints yet, I'll just be adding them before long.

Screwzer,

I have the little tires like you and mine is an XLT 4x4, but I plan to go to 33's and a lift so the tires will be ok until then.
