Post Opinions on Ravin Z33

Hello, I am pretty sure I am going to go with the Ravin Z33 SI/DO. I think I am going to have 1 pipe exit in front of the left rear tire and 1 exit in front of the right rear tire. Does anyone think this is not a very good setup? I have been quoted $350 with tips. Seems to be a pretty resonable price. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I have a Ravin Z33 SI/DO, with the 5.4. Let me tell u that the Ravin produces a unique sound. Flowmasters sound tin-like, but Ravin's sound deep and aggressive( the Z33 ). Even the build-quality of the Ravin is superior. Also, just so you know, it gurgles when u let off the gas (if the trany doesn't upshift when u slow down). All in all, the Ravin was a bit more expensive, but it was worth it. BTW, although Ravin makes beatiful-sounding mufflers, their tips need some attention. Go with some 1-1.5' non- Ravin stainless tips. Oh yeah, and dont weld the muffler, have them clamp it on. This is because it allows u to change the Z33 for a quieter muffler if u decide that it is too loud (some guys do!).

Have fun, and oh yeah, there are two things that ruin an exhuast system.

1) Salt
2) High exhaust temps.

So, do not push your RPM's too high for a long time, and you wont sacrifice the thermal integrity of the metal, and it wont be as susceptible to breakdown (e.g. rust), thus ensuring the longevity of your system.

Take care

Can't say that I have ever heard of duals exiting in front of the wheels. I have the Z-33 SI/DO run out the back with 3.5" tips. I absolutely love the sound. It really makes the truck sound like a truck. The price doesn't sound bad, do a little price comparing first. (It never hurts) The only problem I could see is that it might be a but too loud up front in the cab. I know that I started with mine dumped and less than two days later I HAD to put tailpipe on. It was obnoxious. It sounded great, but would drive you nuts. It is all a matter of personal opinion. It does sound really cool though!

Ravin Z33

I just had my exhaust re-done with a ravin Z33 on a standard cab, shortbed 1993 f-150 5.0L and have it exit before the passenger side wheel, no tips or anything, and the pipe is square to the body. so it kinda still looks stock, but gives it a unique look. i have gotten many compliments on how it looks and on the sound of it, its deep, but not over done or forced, very clean and the sound is not too bad in the cab, just a low rumble. so i say go for it!

I have had the Z55 on for years and have loved it. Definitely a different sound than your usual Flowmasters and Magnaflows. One thing I did find out, the sound out of cut end tips is louder than that of rolled end tips. I changed to rolled end tips for a better look and it seemed to quiet down the exhaust note, which was good because I was getting a drone in the cab at higher speeds.

Is Ravin still in business?? THeir website does not seem to be working.
