Post Lifted Supercrews

I don't know why but for some reason I just can't leave a vehicle alone. The wife says I am an adict.

Anyway I am looking at lifting my supercrew and was wondering who out there has a lift and what brand did you go with. I am looking at the RCD lift. How does it look on the supercrew. Pictures would be great if you have them. What size tire can you get under there with the RCD lift. Any info would be great.

Thanks for any suggestions and headsup on any possible problems.

Paul

I posted a couple of pics when I got my RCD lift a couple of months ago. So far so good and no complaints, other than from my wife who thinks it's too high to step in, esp carrying a 10 month-old...

Thanks Hyacinth,

Nice ride.

A couple of questions...

What size tire can you fit under there with just the rcd lift. I don't really want a body lift. Do you have a body lift or just the suspension. Also how does the tire size you have compare to a 33 or 35. I am not sure what a 305 is compared to a 33.

Did you install it yourself or have someone do it. Did you have to regear or anything like that I have the 3.55 ls rear and would like to avoid regearing if possible. I have done a couple of lifts, but never on one of these ifs trucks. I have also regeared a couple of axles, but don't want to if I don't have to.

Any help you could be would be great. Also did you ever change the tire and wheel setup or are you still running the same ones.

Thanks
Paul

pgio,

The 305/70 16 that I have are equivalent to 33 x 12.5. I mistakenly bought my wheel and tire setup before I thought about putting a lift. After deciding on the lift and having it installed, I then thought that the setup I have now looks a little small. RCD recommends 33" for their lifts but 35" will also fit w/ a little fender modification.
However, the next time I need tires, I think that I'll be putting on 315/75s (=35s) but the nice thing about my setup now is that I didn't feel the need to regear since there's no discernable power loss.

I had a local truck shop install my lift but if you've done it before, I've heard this is one of the easier ones to install. I really like the Bilsteins that came w/ the lift and am very satisfied w/ the ride overall.

Hope this helps...

Hey thanks for the info.

One more question. Do you have a body lift or just the 5" RCD lift. I think your truck looks killer.

Did you have to do anything to your speedo to get it to read right or is it pretty close.

Thanks again
Paul

I just have the suspension lift. Did not have the speedo recalibrated although I've heard that it's off around 5%. Not a big deal for me right now but I will do it if I get 35" tires...

Question

Hey guys, just a quick ? How is the ride comfort after a lift kit? I'm looking for a little more lift, would like to stay with original tires (17inch), but only about a two inch lift, any suggestions???
