Angry Ford is SHAFTING me on fixes

Hey ya'll,

I've gone to 3 dealers now, in regards to both the radio overheating problem and the missing wire harness cover...both say there's no fix for the radio, and the one says that the part number given on this board for the missing cover is listed as something that goes under the dash!! WTF??

If anyone knows an official statement from ford regarding the radio please point me to it. As for the cover, I think I'm 'screwed' unless the big guy upstairs shines down on me at the next ford dealer..

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hey braboin,

I too have a Screw and live in Glen Ellyn. Haven't been to the dealer yet regarding the radiator or the radio...I'll make sure that if something happens on my end, I'll post it here.

Thumbs up

Thanks,

I look forward to hearing from ya. It really has me PO'd. I'm also waiting on an email response from some Ford Direct customer support center, I got an automated aknowledgement about it saying I'd have a response in 3 days...hopefully I'll get something direct from ford and go shove it in their face.

Keep Rollin'

Have you tried Victor Ford in Wauconda? I have been having good luck and great service from Matt, the service manager, about the my radiator issue, so far.

Phone number is 847-526-5541; service is extension 1. He is in everyday 7:30-6:00. Hard working guy. I know that when I droped my truck off this week and they entered the VIN the Ford computer it accessed all the recalls and imformation needed on the truck right away. They gave me the print out to verify a recall on the seatbelts. Anyway they may be able to help you.

braboin...

Part number for the wiring harness (actual name is): "Shield-Wire" is XL3Z-14A099-FA, price is $26.50. I took in a pic from a post by 2000FordStyle dated 2/2/01 before my truck even showed up from the factory. The day I picked it up they handed me the cover and said "no-charge". Check this link out -

Cool

OK,

Who was the cool guy in the Blue SuperCrew over by Vernon Hills, that beeped as he went by? can't miss these beautiful beasts, even in the rain.

The service manager at Sessler (where I bouught from) told me that there is a message from Ford about the radio, but that there's no 'offical' fix for it yet and that they're still researching it....had to schedule an oppointment just so they can go "yup, the cover's missing" and order it under warranty. *frustrated sigh*

Keep rollin
