PSlappin,

Let me get this straight, in your SCrew you have the only piston slapping engine I've heard of in a SCrew, and now you have a transmission with no reverse. You either have extremely rotten luck, or you're a disgruntled Chevy owner. Either way, you have one big, black cloud over your head.

Hey Guys! This message board is to share our experiences with our new SCrews, "good or bad". I've always purchased and been happy with my Ford Trucks except this one. I'm not bashin Ford or anyone's truck but my own. The problems with the cold engine knock & no reverse in the morning are real. After spending $30k and 1500 miles it is a real disappointment to deal with this every morning. The Service Manager at the dealer did hear the noisy startup "THANK GOD" and did indicate the problems still exist in random 2001 5.4 engines. His suggestion was to bring it back at the 3rd oil change to evaluate the engine at that time. As far as the trans goes, I have an appointment 4/5 to have it checked out and a correct radiator installed. With a build date 12/00, maybe my truck was built during Ford assembly plant Christmas party or they were just moving out questionable inventory. Who knows? After investing in a cap, better tires, bars, 5.4 badges etc, I really plan to keep this truck, problems corrected of course. I'm sure anyone else with similar concerns would be right here on this message board postin away. Yes I do own a 2K CHEVY Camaro SS & a no problems 99 FORD Expy w/32k miles, but I'm not the "OBVIOUS" Chevy Truck Owner/Ford Basher or problem bandwagoner that you think I am. The SCrew is still my truck of choice, clouds or sun.

Thank You

Pslappin,

Sorry to hear about your bad luck! Odds of having two such major problems on a F-150 are pretty slim.

Good luck with your repairs and keep us posted.

Then I apologize if I miss read your post, but when a post only says "this truck is a lemon", and with a name like PslappinScrew, I was just wondering. And like coastie refered too, I would hate to be under the big black cloud that follows you around...WOW, thats some bad luck with a truck that only has 1500 miles on it? I would wish you good luck, but I don't know if that is possible...LOL!
