Question Recent Deliveries w/ Correct Radiator?

Has anyone here recently received an S'Crew delivered upon order which had the correct (1.42") radiator? If so, which engine size do you have (4.6L or 5.4L) and when did you pick up your truck?

I don't think you'll see it happen. I asked my salesman to find out what he could about the whole radiator controversy. His parts manager eventually hooked up with someone in the Misbuilt Vehicle Unit at Ford and was told that the 1.02" radiator IS the correct size. This contact person also went on to say that the Sales department has been told AS FAR BACK AS 1999 to correct their literature to reflect that there is NO UPGRADED RADIATOR with the trailer tow package. (Since SuperCrews are new for 2001, I assume he is referring to ALL F150s since 1999.)

Sounds somewhat credible, especially since I haven't heard of anyone having temperature problems while towing with the 1.02". I know radiator efficiency is not only based on size but also on the number of rows and most importantly the fins per square inch -- but I haven't seen specs on either the 1.02" or 1.42" to compare.

I ordered the trailer tow package because I PERCEIVED it to be a good value for the equipment that was included but what did I REALLY get with the package? I can visually see the 7-pin wiring plug and hitch but do I really have the heavy duty shocks or is that a printing error too?

This isn't the first time Ford hasn't delivered on what they promised. In 1999, Motor Trend magazine dyno-tested the Mustang Cobra and found that it was SUBSTANTIALLY SHORT on its advertised horsepower. Only AFTER much publicity and pressure by a national publication did Ford apologize for the "oversight" and send letters to 1999 Cobra owners offering to upgrade intake manifolds, exhausts, etc. to meet the advertised horsepower. (If MT hadn't dyno-ed the car, there would STILL be Cobra owners out there getting their doors blown off by Mustang GTs!)

Don't get me wrong -- I love my SuperCrew -- I just don't appreciate being deceived and paying $$$ for something I'm not getting! Personally, I'll keep my radiator -- if there's a problem, it's covered under warranty. Just give me back my money for the trailer tow package!!!

I'd settle for a leather covered stearing wheel as the monitary compensation for the lack of the advertized SC radiator.

But I have been forever scared emotionally and phycologically because of Fords handling (whether knowingly or unknowingly)of this issue.I know longer have faith in my fellow man. And will forever have to live like this.
Now thats got to be worth something.

It's easy: They should say we made a mistake or the dealer made a mistake face up to it and give us the advertized SC radiator.

One positive thing that has come out of this for me is the reinforcement of something I learned a long time ago.
