Talking When is the next planned body style

I have heard that Ford is changing the body style in 2002 from one source and 2003 from another. Does anyone know when it really is?

My understanding (as a supplier) is that it is planned for 2003-1/2, though it is likely to extend to 2004 by the time it is all said and done. They are actually building a single Advanced Prototype vehicle within the next couple of weeks - really early for the process - somebody thought that it would be better to have the APV, rather than just the clays, for VIP approval, I guess.

Hoochiegetter,

I posted a thread similiar to this a while back and noticed you did as well with little response. This does not appear to be a very hot topic. I plan on ordering a '02, but have been worried about the body style changing in '03. According to a friend at my local dealership the '02 will have minor cosmetic changes primarily in the front end, additional and deleted colors and couple of new smaller options. Recently visiting blueovalnews.com, a body style change as well as engine upgrades are planned for the '03. Their will be significant HP improvements in the 4.6/5.4. I agree with the post above by JScharton, sounds like he is more aware and how Ford operates.
Will the release of the '03 be the new style; release the '03 model late in the year '02 with the style change as they did the '01 Screw in '00 ; or wait until '04.
I'm now curious and undecided.

Bottom Line....

The OEM's are being pushed to introduce new models (or at least new looking models) faster and faster. While I doubt it will ever get to the level that the computer industry is at (wait 5 minutes and your computer is obsolete), the same principles apply: If you want/need the truck, buy it now. If you keep waiting for the next greatest thing, you'll always be waiting (and not enjoying). Just look at the past 1 year with the SCrew - Gen I, Gen II, Gen III, all within the 2001 model year.

Don't wait.
