I've read somewhere about a solenoid/relay that ties into the factory power lock system for the tailgate lock. Anyone install one? Where did you get it? What's involved? How much does it cost? Thx.

I installed a "Powerbolt" tailgate lock on my SCrew. I did it after I installed the remote lock on my A.R.E. LSII cover. Works great!

Pace Edwards makes one, I have it on my 98 supercab had it installed when I bought my rool top cover, watched the guys put it in and it seemed very simple.I think I paid $125.00 for the power lock and it has worked well since mid 98. Mark

 

JC Whitney sells one for around $75, sometimes you can catch it on sale for about $50. It just ties into your power door locks, and would work it you had remote keyless entry.
