as you guys know my super crew is prone to an a/c problem. i complained to dearborne (again) and i was called by a ford service director for the state of florida (never heard of such a thing?) they brought the crew into a dealer of my choice, and completely went over the system. they agiain replaced the cycle switch, a/c clutch assembly and drained the system of the coolant gases, and refilled and recalibrated the head pressures. it seems some of the a/c coolant installed at the factory was contaminated. its still warm in fla and the system is working o.k. for now... cpafay thought you should know as i think you are having the same proble.. they even gave me a loaner car for the day..

I have to agree with one50, I still need to get my A/C fixed, but right now just waiting for the snow to get here. Thanks for the update, let me know if it really is fixed this time and I will have the same done at my dealer in about, oh, 5 months.

Hey Nick, you with Progress Energy/fpc?? Anyway, who/where did you send the complaint to in Dearborne? I am fighting a still "WANDERING SCREW" after 2 dealers, front end replacement parts, being pi##ed off,etc... But I still luv my truck...

no, i'm with florida power and light... i sent it to the address in the owners manaual in dearborne, i also followed it up with a phone call to the 800 number in the same manual,, look for it. and be persistant. it works, providing your dealership is worth while.. remember ""anything is posible in dealership land""" i have to wait to see if the fix works... so far so good,,, by the way its getting colder today it was 65 degrees,, we have great weather here in palm beach county we just have a hard time voting properly.. happy new year my blue oval friends ...lets have a great year together online
1stnuford... i had a wandering problem also.. i had the front end re-aligned and my dealership took all four tires off and put them on the hunter 9600 machine that does a dynamic balance and links the rims with the tires balance points ,adjusted the air pressure and it has done wonders,, waiting for my goodyears to wear out so i can get rid of the real culprit.

Haven't heard from you in a while...
I read on the A/C thread that you finally got your's fixed. What did the dealer do to get it to work consistently? It is time to get mine fixed for the warm weather.

 

cpafay... i have been on the site ,,but keeping a low profile..enjoying all the goings on... my air conditioner has been working fine.. after 3 trips and various tales of wooo in "dealership land" where anything is posible,,,a kin to disney.....they completely drained the refrigerant and purged the system and re-filled it with a new charge of refrigerant, and calibrated the system charge. installed a new cycleing switch. and acuator vacuum switch behind the dash/glove box area. thats the one that allows the air doors to make all that noise directing the cool/warm air flow. its doing fine...so far.. i'm afraid to check the size of my radiator now after the latest uprising on this site.. knowing that i have a generation 1 super crew i think i know what i will find... after 20,000 miles the s crew is still a great piece..i just dread having to approach my dealer for the radiator thing..even the best dealerships here in metro fl. are so crowded that its a hassle just going there.
