Warning for Ford Vinyl Mats
If you bought Ford F-Series vinyl mats for your Supercrew, read this. You need to trim the left front to make sure the accelerator pedal can't hang on it. Don't bother writing Ford Insider. Shown below is my message to Ford and their canned response:
MESSAGE
"I have a safety concern concerning the accessory vinyl floor mats. I ordered a set of vinyl floor mats from Ford Accessories through my dealer when I ordered my 2001 F-150 Supercrew. On several occasions, the throttle has stuck full open while using the vinyl mats. It would stick when the accelerator pedal was depressed fully and the mat was positioned straight in the vehicle. It could be prevented by placing the front of the mat a couple of inches farther to the right than the rear of the mat. But, after getting in and out of the vehicle several times, the mat would sometimes straighten itself. I like using the vinyl mats whenever my shoes could become wet or muddy. However, I have placed the standard carpet mats back in after having a near collision because of this problem. Anyone else using the accessory F-Series vinyl mats in the F-150 Supercrew should have the same problem."
