Another help me decide thread!

I want so much but can't focus on which way to go! So I thought id put it up here and see what I got! Ok so I got about $500 to play with, my truck is bone stock other than a drop in k&n filter. So do I go performance or appearance? Things I want: magnaflow exhaust, K&N intake, GroundForce suspension, bakflip(dunno if I have $ for that), component set of mids & highs, grillcraft grille, or some combination of these. See why I can't focus?! So please give your opinion! Thanks...

You have to spend a lot more than $500 on performance to notice any gains. I would get exhaust, tint, HIDS, and a new grille if you have money left over. You can also nightshade your tails for $10-$20. But on your list, exhaust and suspension.

I thought it would be better to get intake & exhaust first then work on custom tuning?

I would definitely get the windows tinited. As a fellow Floridian, knowing how freaking hot it gets here, I would get that done with summer time heat not too far away

Window tint and exhaust for sure. If you get an intake then you will need to get a programmer so those two get my vote.

Made a decision!

Well i picked out a grillcraft grill I was going to buy and then at the last minute took everyone's advice and went with the exhaust! Chose the magnaflow SI/DO the rear. Got it from performance peddler for $415.00 online, which I thought was a great price! Im happy with my choice and now just cant wait to get it installed and hear it purrrrr! Thanks for all who gave their opinion!

Hello!

^^Big mistake - you should have waited fer more input. Kids, lol.

$~400 just fer some 'purr' ... wow what a Bargoon!

You seem like type who also can't decide on what to have fer brekkie

Anyway - too late now, but:

Programmer first - that's yer biggest bang-fer-buck perf mod. Preferably custom fer best results.

Exhaust/intake gets ya bupkis perf-wise - just do the Gotts mod & call it a wrap.

If you install that K&N POS CAI you'll need a custom tuner to run it safely anyway, so don't even go there. Not worth the box it's packaged in. Sad but true.

You'll get 80% of the benefit of a full catback by just replacing the stock muffler with a Maggie 14"-22", 2.5" in/out (refer to Jim Allen's posts on this subject).

So - programmer & Maggie will take care of that $500 nicely. And you actually have some perf & vastly superior shifting to show fer it, along with a nice tone.

Good luck - take control of yer brain's decision-making centre already, will ya?

It's yer truck. And - can I interest you in some Preparation H?

Hello again, Little Tampon Cannon, sir! How are you doin' this fine mornin'?

Pablum all done? Tasty? Go potty? Good fer you!

Look - a thread like this, you need to wait fer more than just 10 measly replies - there are thousands of members here - if you really want a true cross-section of consensus.

Bootom line - you pulled the trigger too soon - you know it, I know it, everyone else knows it - so get over it. That's what youngin's do.

You ask fer opinion, I give it, and I also gave you some good advice, and I sense that the simple concept of a Search is beyond yer capabilities.

The other stuff just comes along fer the ride - I'm not treating ya any different than anyone else, so don't go crying to Mommie

Nappy time - don't fergit yer sippy cup.

If ya can't take some good-natured, well-intentioned ribbing, without soiling yer diapers, yer in fer a REAL rough ride here. Better stock up - WallyMart has a sale on the real soft ones right now!

Don't have any milk handy, but have some (Don't tell Mommy)

Chill bud - I do mean ya all the best, whether you can actually discern this or not.

Hello Mr. Tampon, sir!

If by that you are inferring thay I abhor Ignancy, you would indeed be correct.

This simply reaffirms my point, little one. When you run out of arguments, immaturity compels you to play the 'hater' card.

Thank-you fer yer concise, wordy, ill-reasoned, and completely inaccurate post!

Have a good weekend bud! And - Stay safe installing that catback! (Be sure to check out the threads detailing all the tips & tricks on R&R'ing the exhaust - like anything else, there's an easy way and a hard way, lol)
