Question Rear Bumper Question

I have a class III hitch. My question is about my rear bumper. The part where one could put a trailer ball in the bumper does not have a black plastic cover over it like you see on most truck bumpers. You know what i mean? It looks like step almost when the plastic piece is there. Am i missing this part or does Ford not put them on the SuperCrew? I think it looks better with one because now the chrome and the hole for the trailer ball is exposed. Any input would be great!

Mine doesn't have a plastic cover either. I never really paid it much attention. It is not a big deal to me, but I would imagine you could get a little plastic plug from your dealer for it.

Cool

The cover is a 3.00 part from the dealer or just tell you salesman that you did not get one and have him get you one. I did that after my brother pointed it out to me that it was missing. There was a thread on it in the L section a while back. Someone else suggested finding one off a truck in the mall parking lot but I do not condone that much.

Wink

Not a huge deal to me either...and after looking at some pics of other people's screws it looks like they don't have them either. It just seems like most trucks have them (Ford & Chevy)and was wondering why the Screw didn't...that's all!

I would guess that it is another one of those items that will be installed if you ask. Ford saving money again, maybe. Maybe they assume that you are going to put a ball hitch in there and you will not notice at all. Lets see... a couple hundred thousand trucks with that bumper a year at 2-3 dollars a pop. Seems to make sense. Just ask for it, at 30 large it should just be there in my mind.

I'm sorry but I found this funny...
I have noticed that the things folks hate most is the very things they do themselves.

tfratzke, you take the cake
