Question

Something I can't understand, and I've seen it more than once on this board, is why buy the off road package. If you buy the Lariat it comes w/17" wheels. If you get the traler tow you get heavy duty shocks, alternator, battery, and cooling. Add skid plates for $138 and you've got a better off road package than Fords and will have spent $ 247 less. Only thing missing is the decals. Just food for thought.

Cool

This truck is awesome!
The price on those Westin's seems a little steep. I got my Chrome Plated Stainless Steel Westin nerfs from http://www.tpcarguy.com
for $351 and I believe shipping is free!!
The Wait is worth It! Waited five months for my beauty, longer than the average purchaser which i still don't understand!

I agree, I was going to order the offroad package in the beginning, but my dealer said it was not available for the supercrew lariat models only the XLTs, at least thats what his book said... Better anyway, I got all the options as you described plus limited slip axle for the same cost as the whole off road group. Also, I ended up getting the whole truck for $150 UNDER invoice (per Edmonds listing). Gotta love that!

Whoa Dan, Easy boy, no need to rip me a new one. I understand you get the alloy wheels w/ORP. I had seen a number of KRE owners listing that they had both the Tow and ORP and as you know the alloys are standard w/KRE. Just offering up my .02 so if the alloy's weren't important to someone, that they would be paying $ 250 for decals. No offence intended. Also XLT comes standard w/ polished aluminum wheels. A psyc major must have told Ford to come up with this package. "Every truck owner wants to have "4X4 Off Road" on his truck".

Thumbs up

Original reason for gettin KRE was for the Estate Green paint color. Was looking at a Harvest Gold Lariat on the lot but it sold 3 days after I took the wife to see it and didn't like any other colors. Anyway I got the KRE at dealer invoice. I hope it's nice, haven't got it yet. Was at dealer today. It's due to arrive there on 3/19. Ordered 1/12. Heres hopin. Scott
