Lightbulb Is your dealer this good??

When I started looking for a SCrew I called many dealerships and and asked what they charged for the processing fee and what else they had to offer, plus to make sure I could use the x plan there. Ciener-Woods Ford in Kernersville, NC said they charge $295 for the processing fee but also gives a free 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Plus I mention that I am going to sell my truck myself and will they give me a loaner vechicle if I sold my truck before the new ordered truck arrived. Well I sold my truck and went and picked up my loaner today, it is a 2000 F150 SC. I had about 3 people taking care of me, that's what call service!

I dont like paying that much for the proc. fee but for what they are doing for me I dont mind.

In theirshow room, they just got in a HD SCrew, and that thing was AWESOME!!

Anyone else have a dealer that does this much for ya?

98XLT,

Why did you have to pay a processing fee? I got mine on the X plan with absolutely nothing extra added except tax, title and license. They also filled the gas tank free. I think Ford says on the X plan that none of the fees apply but you still get any rebate and low financing that is beinng offered as well.

I dont have the truck yet, but I will check with my corp. office to see if I have to pay the proc. fee. I called quite a few dealerships and told them I was gonna use the x plan and they all said I would have to pay a proc. fee. But if I do have to pay the proc. I think it is okay since I'm getting a loaner and the power train warranty.

Ditto to what Dewayne said!
Just ordered mine on the X-Plan and they cannot charge any processing fees.

I just called and spoke to someone at the
X plan program and she said I pay no processing and fee and also no dest. fee. Has anyone else heard this, I agree with the proc. fee but no dest. fee? The lady there also said if I had any problems with the dealer to have them give the X plan people a call. So it sounds like it might be true!!

I hope so!

That's about a grand I'll be saving just on this.

I am also using the X-plan. I sent an Email to Ford yesterday asking about that destination fee. This is their response:

iamBill,

Thanks for the info! So looks like I will not pay the proc. fee or the dest. fee. The dealer I'm getting the truck from will freak when I tell them this. It's not my fault they dont know how the x plan works. So instead of paying $32,400 I will paying around $31,400, this is including the tax and tags. Although this is the invoice price, not x plan, so it should be a lil cheaper. Do you have any idea of the dollar amount the x plan is below invoice?

98XLT,

I don't think the dealerships know that they shouldn't be charging the delivery fee, but they will soon find out!
For my truck, the dealer invoice is $29029. With the X-plan, they are knocking off $442, (about 1.5% under ivoice).

Whoa......processing fee? $31,400 for a vehicle with a $32,400 sticker price?? you're in La La land...or you're buying a Ford in the Czech Republic. A SCrew with a $32,000 sticker price should be selling for NO MORE THAN $28,000..............Don't, Please Don't, get suckered!!!!!

MrBill,
MSRP on my truck is $35,250 and invoice is $31,143.

I'm not gonna get suckered, when buying on the x plan you are buying for under invoice and there is no way around that.

Question

I just joined the forum, and am looking at the Screw as a possibility. What is the X plan you are all talking about. Has anyone gotten a Screw thru CarsDirect.com? I priced out a full boat Lariet 4x4 at $30600, on their site, but I know nothing about their reliability, or who they would deliver thru here in NC.

Cheers
