Question Buzzing Gas Pedal!

Does anyone else have this problem!!?? I just bought a 2001 SCrew. When I am accelerating away from a stop light, between 1,200 and about 2,000 RPM, the gas pedal vibrates/buzzes. The vibration is more noticable at between 1,200 and 1,500 RPM, especially when you start to let off the gas, then ease back on again. At first I didn't notice it, but after a while, especially in stop and go traffic, it is annoying. My SCrew is a white 2001 F-150 XLT 4X4 with the off-road package. It has the 5.4 L engine, 3.55 L/S rear-end, 17 wheels and tires. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what was the cause, and did you get it fixed? My truck only has 1,200 miles on it, and I really enjoy driving it, but these type of vibrations belong on a cheap motel vibrating bed, not my truck!!

Mine does this sometimes too... thought it might be normal... if anyone can confirm that their pedal never buzzes, I'll tell the dealer about this when I go in to have them look at the tranny & differential next week...

I got the same thing with the passenger door. It's the air pressure. If you leave your door open while they close theirs it will work much better. As the seals wear, it will be less noticeable.

Both peddles vibrate (I have 1000 miles on)
but only when WOT and getting over 3000RPM.

It is probably a result of having the
adjustable peddles to begin with.

Any other thoughts on this??

Hello Gang,
Mine too. Gas pedal starts vibrating only when accelerating and de-accelerating. Brake is fine.
It makes my foot tingle (go to sleep) after a while. It sux.
I purchased my maxed out Lariat in September.
Took it back to the dealer. Service couldn't find anything (go figure).
I took my salesman for a ride in another Screw to prove it to him. He finally notice it.
"Long story short". Since they had no clue, they had no suggestions!
I posted it here immediately and no one responded.
' Thought I was was just too ****.
I put a Dr. Scholls insole pad on the gas pedal. Helped some, not much.
Maybe I'll try a another brand!
I have 8300 miles on it and still haven't been able to ignore it, but the truck is awsome.

Later dudes!

Supercrew Rick and everyone else,

Thanks for taking the time to reply about my buzzing gas pedal problem. Thought I was being a bit **** as well!! I will be taking truck to the dealer before the first 5,000 mile service is due because of a pull to the left I want to get fixed before the tires start to wear uneven (I also want to get the tires reversed so the black walls are facing outward. I will see what they have to say and post it if I get a decent answer. Like MOD2FLY, I also get a heavier buzzing when I really get into it, above 3,500 RPM. I plan on leaving my posting for a while. Maybe someone else will see it and reply.

Looking forward to really trying out the 4-wheel drive in the next couple of weeks!!

Thanks again,

skydiver

On the Expy there was a TSB to reroute the accelerator cable. They unfastened it from the power steering resivoir and insulated it.

I had it done to my 99 Expy and it worked. The 2000 didn't need it---Bob

Allstate did good by me but I still took a hit on mileage.

Haven't noticed the gas pedal vibration but I will check. Hopefully it's not there or it will drive me crazy now that it has been pointed out .

I definately see a big difference in the passenger door. You have to close it HARD but the driver's door is nice. I don't think it has to do with air pressure though as I have tried them independently.

Has anyone noticed a whistling from the passenger door area that almost sounds like a spark knock? Seems to be most prominent during a cross wind.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones; haven't had any problems with the pedals or doors. Actually, I haven't had problems of any kind yet other than the "orange-peel" in the paint around the tail lamps that some others have posted about...........

Post Gas pedal vibration!!

I had the same problem until 2 days ago. After numerous visits to the dealer, one tech finally got it.
The accelerator cable is quite short and distorted (S-shape).
It is also mounted in bracket mounted on the manifold.
He unclenched it from the little holder that keep it in place and let the cable stand freely without being in the bracket.....Well LO-AND-BEHOLD---the vibration is totally gone.

I hope this helps all of you, it sure put my mind at ease..

Ricor
