Thumbs down the whistler

Well, unless someone has a better idea, I have had it. I have been fighting a whistling noise in my truck since I got it 4 months ago. It has spent at least 10 days at the dealer with them trying to locate it and unsuccessfully so. I am fedup. It sounds like you constantly have a window cracked just a bit so that it whistles from 35 MPH on up. Won't put up with it. Not for 31,000 and really not for any price. I have a warranty that says something to the effect that the vehicle is warrantied VS manufacturer's defects and that's what I have hear. So that means they have to do something about it or they are in breach of contract. I intend to hold them to it. Even my dealer suggested that I contact Ford about this matter and let them know cause I believe the dealer is giving up trying to find it.
There is a purpose to my writing this message and it is not just to vent. Can anyone advise me the best route to take as far as complaining to Ford? Give me the phone number if you have it, and any other advice on how to proceed. I am on the verge now of seeking legal consult if necessary.
Secondly, if anyone has ever had a similar experience with this whistle coming from the dashboard area of the driver side and figured it out, holler at me.
thanks

Try removing your grill guard and see what you get.

Screwster,

Try these in this order:

1. This probably does not pertain to you, but first make sure the noise isn't being caused by an external cell phone antenna. Some do cause a whistle noise at higher speeds.

2. Have the dealer go over the rubber door seals and inspect them real well and replace if needed. They may have been crushed or crimped when initially installed at the plant.

thanks for your suggestion. I am 90% sure I had the whistle before the grill gaurd was installed, but just incase you're right, let me ask you. Have you previouly encountered a whistle produced by a grill gaurd and if so, where did that whistle seem to originate from?
thanks

Sorry about the whistle! I have noticed a slight whistle around the passenger side dash when my HVAC is set a certain way. This may be fresh air coming in trying to leak out or whatever. I hope it works out for You

hey Eddie, talk to me. Your whistle sounds like mine but mine is more than a slight whistle. What is HVAC? Is that by chance heater, vent A/c system? If it is, I can tell you without a doubt that my whistle comes on sooner (at 35mph rather than 40) if the climate control is set on off. As soon as I turn it to any other postion, the sound dimishes but is still there. Are we talking about the same thing? If we are, then this may be a clue to the problem.
thanks for taking the time to help me.
