Soon to be new SCrew owner :-)
After shopping for a new 4X4 truck, I fell in love with the SuperCrew and placed my order about two weeks ago. After checking out the site it looks like I bought the right setup except for the engine. Here's what I ordered, maybe it's not too late to change my order.
-Oxford white
-XLT package
-4.6L (might regret)
-4X4 w/ 10 spoke rims
-Offroad package
-Towing package
-60/40
-Moonroof (nice option IMHO)
-3.55 L/S
I'm not planning on towing a lot, maybe a 27' boat later or a trailer and some 4-wheelers for camping. However I do have a lead foot, and like to drive fast at times. I currently have a Dodge 4X2 Quadcab with a 5.2 and enjoy the power when needed. Sorry to use the D word here.
I just hope when I need to stomp on the gas, I will get an adequate response.
If I do keep the 4.6L, I was looking at the K&N FIPK and a Gibson exhaust system. Anyone have some helpful hints or recommendations on installation of the FIPK? I have little experience when it comes to any mods to engines.

Hey Congrats Chuck. We really like our Screw. We really love the room for three the only bi*ch I have is the gas mileage. We drove for Kansas City to Omaha Neb yesterday and got a whole 17MPG. WOW

I checked the status of my order and they are currently building it. According to them, I should have it by early to middle of March.
After testing driving some more at my dealer of the 4.6 and 5.4L, I decided to keep the 4.6L engine. The performance was comparable to my 5.2L in my Dodge, probably better once it is broken in. I'll save the extra money and use it to buy the K&N FIPK and Gibson setup.

I found my King Ranch! I located one with everything I wanted but the engine block heater, at AutoFair Ford in Manchester, NH, and put down a deposit. It's Chestnut, and it's got the 5.4, Limited Slip, Trailer Group, Offroad Group, Moonroof, Bed Extender, and even the all terrain tires. Wahoo! I'm having the K40 radar system removed from my car tomorrow morning (to be reinstalled in the SCrew on arrival), and I'll be a SCrew driver on Wednesday afternoon. :-)

Chuck_TX,
I thought I was the only one getting the Screw with 4.6L but now I see there are others who owns Screw with 4.6L too. Whew! I think you will be fine with 4.6L in your new Screw. I have drove few trucks with 4.9L (Inline 6 cyl. 300) for years. I am selling my '94 F150 with 4.9L now and waiting for my new Screw with 4.6L V8. So it will be a minor adjustment for me to go from 4.9L to 4.6L.
I am waiting for my Screw to arrive in about two weeks. I know I will be happy towing boats and hauling kids this year with my new truck. So many trips planned .. so little time.

I'm so anxious on picking up my truck. I was reading a post that some folks are finding damage or lousy repair jobs due to damage during transit. I'll be sure to go over mine in detail. Just hope my excitment will not let me overlook anything wrong.
SeaMark,
Yeah, me too in regards to the 4.6L
After reading a lot of the postings here, I was kinda hesitant on the 4.6L. But after testing driving the 4.6L and the 5.2L it will suit me perfectly.

Chuck_TX, your truck is already being built! I envy you. My order has been stuck on "clean and unscheduled" for around 6 weeks now. On that note, does anyone know how I can light a fire under someone's butt to get my order moving through the system? I am really starting to lose patience.

Hey Chuck_TX.....you will love your truck!
I to have a SuperCrew XLT 4x4 (4.6L) with the 10 spoke rims and 17" tires, Offroad, towing package....many more extras!
You will not be disapointed in this truck / 4.6L Triton motor. I pull snowmobile, sport bikes and ski boat weighing in at around 5000lbs with mine through the Canadian Rockies(big hills)and never had a problem.
I have although added a Velosity tube, Superchip and a Gibson CatBack exhaust (cheap add on's)...but I would of done this with even the 5.4L....it's in my blood of course!
I really enjoy the smoothness, realiability and mileage I get from the 4.6L
The 5.4L is also a great motor...either motor's are great!
