Cool Gibson Cat-Back Exhaust for SuperCrew

Just ordered the Gibson # 619608 Stailess Steel Swept Side Exhaust from CarParts, $398 delivered (after $100 1st buyer discount).

Anyone installed the Gibson catback in a SuperCrew ?

Gibson Swept Side Aluminized # 319608 or the
Gibson Swept Side Stailess Steel # 619608.

How far did you have to cut for the installation ?

Thumbs up

2001 Supercrew....I have not yet installed the Gibson "Sweptside" on my Ford truck yet but this is exactly what is going to be going on my Supercrew 4x4 as soon as I find the best price. You have definitely picked the best cat-back system out there for torque and horsepower gains...some sound but not a lot, which is good!.

Please let me know how it turns out for installation and power gains...very curious on what your out come is!

Good luck with the Gibson...Best by far!

Cool

Just installed the Gibson (# 619608 Stailess Steel) Swept Side Exhaust on my SuperCrew.

From inside the sound is just a bit more than stock, while driving below 55 MPH you know that it is there, after 60 MPH the sound is pulled away from the cab and from inside it just sounds like stock, no drone at all.

It is great, just what I wanted, deep V8 mellow sound.

As for power, I seem to notice a little more power below 2000 RPM, have not head a chance to test the upper end (trafic & rain).
Everyone tells me that I should get the K&N filter to really get the most out of the exhaust.

$65.00 installation, done by MICAH at meineke, (7941 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX), Micah spot welded all joints, great job!.
Installation - Make sure all pipe cuts are done with a saw, not with a torch.

I installed the Gibson dual sport. Not easy without a lift. Also the fit with the supplied clamps is not good, so I had it welded together. I like its sound-not too loud but has nice idle. I tow a trailer so didn't want anything too loud when pulling a load.

Question

SuperCrew,
How does it sound at highway speeds inside the cab? Do you hear it and does it bother you? I am having a hard time deciding between the Swept Side and the Dual Sport. I don't want to alert the neighbors unless I hammer it!

Thanks

Sound inside is not bad at all. Some resonance at about 2000-2200 RPM, but can still hear the CD player fine.

Wink

Just had the performance shop here in town install the Gibson "Swept Side" CatBack system on the Supercrew last night.
Installation took them about 30 minutes including removing the old system and fitting the new. The fit is perfect, sound is exactly what I wanted (not to loud, yet throaty) and the performance gains are there! As it was a "quick" ride home last night I did not have a "really good" feel for the performance gains, but with the weekend coming up I am sure the SuperCrew 4x4 will be out for a few good road tests...stay tunned for further updates!

Swept Side Exhaust - $484.00
Installation - $12.00
Shop Supplies - $12.00
Taxes - $35.56
TOTAL - $543.56 (Canadian Dollars)

Very Nice Looking System Foresure and worth the money!
