Angry Mud comes out around taillights for days!

Everytime I go in the mud, or drive through some water, I get mud or sand running out from around the taillights. If I spray the hose under the truck and point it towards the back, water shoots out about a foot from around the taillights.
Did Ford forget to seal something? I wonder if water is going to get where the bulbs are.
Anyone else have this happen?

Unhappy

It happens to me. I put splash guards on the rear, and it helped. But even with the splash guards, you can still look straight back thourgh an un-covered section behind the tire. I have thought about trying to cover it roof shingle materal, but it is not high on my to do list, since the regular Goose season is over (Snows only now).

Happens the same to my Supercab when spraying water gets in through the edges. And sometimes happens the same on the bed rails.

I am not sure if water is getting inside the bulbs compartment, but I think it's just a matter of time and pressure.

After a recent snowboarding trip, I had to replace the rear fender flares. I had to take off the flares, along with the inner wheelwell housing. When water/mud gets past the inner wheelwell housing, it's a straight shot to the taillights. I thought about installing a second barrier, but haven't come up with an idea yet.

Look up " Mud in tail light housing March 13 2000 " I'm not sure if anyone else has come up with a cure.
