Has anyone tried installing headers on their 2001 5.4 Supercrew? I am thinking about it and was wondering about the performance and difficulty in doing the job myself. Do they really improve performance and how much? Is the exhaust sound changed? And most important, how hard are they to install in the driveway?

 

I've heard it's a NIGHTMARE. Do a search on "headers" here and in other forums like the Exhaust and engine.

 

I was specifically interested the installation on the supercrew. Is it worth me paying the extra money to have it done professionally? I want to weigh it against the performance gains. Are the performance gains realized by installing headers with matched exhaust?
