hi bill,
I have driven just about every seat combo over the last couple weeks (getting ready to buy myself) and i have decided on the leather bench seats. If you've driven the gen. III benches, you'll know why.
You get the full bench, but the drivers and far passenger's sides are bucketed and extremely comfortable. The rear seats are bucketed as well and now include headrests.
regards,
Wes

Are heated seats now an option? I thought they were only available in special editions like the King Ranch. If they are basic options, I'll just say "Cool"... or then again maybe not

Yes, it is available. However, most salesmen know less about the newly available options than we do. I stopped in to get a quote on a “Hard Loaded” Screw. He said I have one that has all of the options. We go look at it. It was close Had the ORP, no heated seats, no Lariat Up Grade. So we go back to where I wanted to start how much to order me a Screw? He said “no heated seats, no LT265 tires, they don’t offer it”. He was using a order guide from 6-2000. I told him there was an order guide from 12-2000 and happened to remember the option code for the seats, 90H. And to add to his humiliation, I told him the truck we just looked at was equipped with the LT tires.
He then took my list of options and entered them in the computer and gave me a quote. It did accept the heated seats. ( he missed the Lariat upgrade ) When I finally got a price out of him I told him not to bother, he was about 2K to high already.
Anyhow the heated seats are available under option 90H
It is standard on the King Ranch and optional on the Harley-Davidson, the XLT, and the Lariat.

If the heated leather seats work as well as the heated ones in my parents car (cadillac with leather seats) then I will be more than pleased. It was an option I could live without, but will be nice feature on real cold days...BTW, the moonroof is probably the coolest option that I am getting and a must have in my opinion! I have always wanted a truck with a moonroof. Oh and then that keyless entry on the drivers door. I'm bad at locking keys in truck...I love it all...GIVE ME ALL THE AMENITIES! Can't wait!

I have the fanny warmers in my 2001 Lariat. They work pretty well, but take a bit longer to heat up than I anticipated. They take 2-3 minutes till you can really feel them. Once this threshold occurs. They get warm quick.

Ok well, I have to say that from a female perspective, I would go for those heated seats. My significant other has them in his KR and on cold nights, it really helps keep the chill off. It's one of the reasons we are always taking his truck out and not mine! It's really not a "gotta have" but if you have a chick who is cold natured, she will thank you a million times over!

What a bunch of pansies. :>P It was 18 degrees(or about -8c for our canadian friends) out this morning when I went on my whole 4 mile ride to work WITHOUT any heat on. And my butt was just fine without the heated seats. It would have to be. That option didn't exist for me 3 months ago....
Alright, I'm just jealous. I know that now. :>P
