Finally, my stereo stuff is in!
I finally got my 4-channel amp installed. I left the front speakers stock, just so I could listen for a difference between those and the 6 1/2" Infiniti Kappa's in the rear. I had a couple of installers tell me that I wouldn't be able to tell the diff between them. I thought they've got to be crazy (besides not trying to push a sale); how could a stock paper speaker sound as good as the high end plastic/rubber/silk materials of the aftermarket one? Well, with balances being equal, test results are as follows: the stock sounds cleaner but you can put your ear up to it; the Kappa is over twice as loud, with some "air" coming out of the grill and getting my ear within several inches on the grill is too loud for me to tolerate.
I also had my Pioneer stereo/cd controller installed and the 12-disc changer put in the console. The amp fit sideways under the passenger chair, and the Bazooka sub fits under the rear seat, or with the seats down, it fits under the flap that lifts up against the back wall on the driver's side.
Needless to say, I'm now going to replace the front speakers and I'll be all set.
I'm very happy that my roommate can once again hear me coming up the dirt road, and it's not engine noise!!!!

Tell us more about the sub, I have not heard great things about the bazooka, but it does seem appropriate for our trucks. How did you wire it so that you could put it under or behind the rear seat?
I would like a sub in my truck, but always want to be able to put the rear seats down and do not want to take any space in my console up front. Any other ideas out there?

Brossman,
I've had my Bazooka for a few years; I took it out of my "old" truck. I get really good thump out of it, maybe because I have a subwoofer control on my stereo. It does not sound like some vehicles with the constant distorted booming and it won't blow the doors off, but its the sound I want.
Since the amp is under the front seat, you could run the wires under the carpet (the carpet is already cut because of the heater vent)or under the floormat or under the carpet and then winding around the very rear of the truck coming out in the mid rear floor/wall. It sits under the seat secured with its tie-down strap. When I want to put the seat down, I just have loosen the strap, pull it towards the other "up" seat, put the seat down, then drop it into the space under the flap that lifts up at the rear part of the seat.
It works out great, because I'm always moving the seats up and down. I know that everyone I talked to wanted to put sub boxes under the seats, but what a pain to take them out or be w/o!

OnBelay,
I have the baby size 6 1/2", non-amplified. It is hooked up to my amp in the "bridged format". If I run across a larger used one,
I'd probably buy it as long as it would still fit under the rear flap.
