could az2528 or anyone else review the legality in CA as far as:

Hi Pesos, sorry I didnt answer this question in your "how fast does everyone drive" forum.

Front license plate, vc 5200, is required. Will you get pulled over for it for not having one, depends, but most likely no.

Tinted windows,vc 26708a, YES. Cops hate them, mainly because of the officer safety issues. The only windows you can tint are the ones behind the front driver/passanger doors.

Clear markers are illegal too, 24003. The ticket can be made a simple fix it ticket, $10.00, signed off. But it also can be made a madatory appearance ticket, and full fine amount. I have no idea what Santa Clara county fine amount would be for that.

If you want to keep us "PoPo" off your tail, keep your front windows tint free, and your factory lights factory. There are no after market lights, meaning tail lights, and side markers, legal in California, and most other states.

Just to let everyone in California know, NHTSA is now going after any dealership selling APC tail lights. So far the recall for the tail lights APC has sold as 50 state legal is around 50,000. If NHTSA finds a dealer selling the APC lights as 50 state legal, they face a fine.

What I have been told by a fellow officer I work with who has been following this investigation is that APC is not voluntarily recalling the lights, but leaving it up to the customer to contact them. According to him, APC has not been refunding any money yet.
