Gen III benches are nice, but ...
I got a Lariat with the Gen III benches and love them, but....
When I fold the back seat down, I have to remove the headrests to clear the front seats. This is a pain, but tolerable. It's just that I have to find a place for the headreasts when removed. The storage compartments behind my seats are full.
I know. It could be alot worse. And I do love the Gen III benches. Maybe I am just being picky. Anyone else find this to be an inconvenience?

How about a simple redesign? I call it the Generation IV rear bench. With the headrest in the down position, the seats could be folded down without any blockage.
Ford, if you are listening, I will gladly take a new Lightning in lieu of payment for the design rights.

This is a bit of a pain. I haven't folded my seats down yet except to show the feature off to friends. However someone posted awhile ago that the head rests fit under the "flap" that slides down the back of the seat as it goes down and forms the flat surface. I tried it (I think) and it fit.
I have the Gen III bench seats and they are really nice. Give you a bucket feel and I think the look much better than the old non-adjustable front seats.
Ford actually called me and went through a survey just about the seats. Too hard? Too Soft? How do they fit you? ...
Since the survey I have noticed that they seem a tad narrow in the thigh area.

Along these same lines, I have often wondered if I will soon (see sig.) have one of those rare and illusive 2001 SCrews actually built and concieved in 2001. Do we expect the 2002 SCrews to be out shortly, considering the 2001 came out about a year ago?
