Santa also brought me a set of the molded mud flaps. The dealer will install them. Santa told me they cost $70 installed. The elves that made yours must have a stonger union.

Pics to come when they are on.

Sure would like to see pics of that ******** lid Whiskey.

WT,
I have the front and rear mud flaps on my 4X2. Ordered them from the dealers parts dept., took about 3 days to come in. The fronts are work real good, but on the rear there is about 4" or so in front of the rear bumper that still gets "splashed" on. Put them on myself. Fronts were easy, just turn wheels left or right to drill holes. Rears are pretty easy if you drill them from the rear, forward instead of removing both rear wheels to fit a drill in the wheel opening.
Mine's a 2wd XLT (no fender opening mouldings or running boards)if anyone wants part #'s I'll post 'em............

WT-

I don't think there is a difference between the XLT and Lariat flaps. My father in law has them on his '97 Lariat and they looked and fit so well that I just picked them up for my XLT. Fronts were $29, rears were $43. Make sure you order the ones for 4x4 w/factory wheel flares and factory cab steps. Part numbers are 1L3Z-16A550-FA for the fronts and YL3Z-16550-CA for the rears.

I'm going to have the dealer install them when they swap out my 16" wheels for the 17" they owe me.

I've never seen another mud flap option that looks or fits as well.

Here are pics of the factory mud flaps installed on a lariat 4x4. I remember them costing about $50 from the Ford Dealership...I installed them myself...it was easy except the factory hardware isn't very good. Here are a couple of pics plus a pic of the ford label with the part number on it.

Hey Wickman,

I'm gettin my Line-x Sat. and the lid is supposed to ship on the 8th. The truck is even better than I'd imagined. I can't wait for summer fuel though, coming from my TOYota I feel like I need another fuel tank in the bed. ; - )

the mud guards look great, was the install a problem for the "do it yourselfer".. did you have to replace the hardware that came with the guards.. or have to re-drill the holes?

Nickg,
The factory hardware consists of some plastic push in rivets...I used the plastic rivets on a couple of the holes in the fenderwell. There is a place for the rivet on the very bottom, but I used a stainless steel machine screw. The main problem with the factory hardware is it doesn't work well with the factory fender flares due to a space between the fender flare and the actual fender.
I would recommend using some self tapping stainless steel screws instead of using the plastic rivets...or you can always let the dealer mess with it.

Thumbs up

Autoloadr,
Sorry about not being around to post a reply; been out trying to "maximize" the last few days of dove season.
Thanks to everyone else that answered the part # questions, but make sure when you're at the parts dept. to be specific about 2WD or 4WD and wether or not your truck has the (lariat) wheel well trim. What I didn't mention in my earlier post was that the correct rear flaps came in on the first try; it took 3 attempts by the parts dept. to get me the correct front flaps.
The part # of my front mud flaps is: XL3Z-16A550-CA The part # of my rear mud flaps is: YL3Z-16A550. Hope this info is of some help.
