WOW Just put 500 miles on mine. Picked it up late Tuesday. Saturday folded down the seats for the dog. Later when I put the head rest back in I didn't notice and put it in reversed. The only one shaft has notches for the lock but only one side had a release for the notches. If you put it in backwards IT WON"T COME OUT!! Unless... after much anger and stress I began digging around at the platic collar (very carefully) and noticed a tiny hole. Using a paperclip you can release the damned thing. Very poor design. Ford must have saved at least two cents per by not putting a release on both sides.

Well I got 560 miles on mine & guess what?? Got to the car wash to get all this salt off it ,had to put the seats up in a hurry didn't even LOOK at the notches on the shaft just glanced at the shape and put it in backwards... Paperclip doesn't seem to be doing sh!%.
Anybody got any tips???
