Anybody bother to undercoat anymore?
Was just wonderin' since it'll be nice and clean and ready to paint when it gets here and it'd be easy to do (myself not the dealer) - since they really overdo it with the salt around here in the winter.

Oh Ya!
Up here in Canada the first thing most of us do is under coat our vehicles... for $140.00 (Cdn), it's a cheap way to keep the underneath of your vehicle clean, rust free and sound proof.
Money well spent for sure!

I had mine rustproofed and underecoated at the dealer for about $230. They offered either the original or the new electronic kind for the same money. I did some research on the electrical kind, because I thought it would be a much cleaner way to keep the truck from rusting. However, several people I talked with said it worked great, right up to when it lost a good ground, and then everything rusted off very fast. So I went with the good old standby, undercoating, and beeswax/cosmoline on the inside panels. Drawbacks?? Yea, I can't get the inside of the door jams clean anymore, the dirt sticks to the cosmoline, but if it works as good as it did on my last new car, then it's worth it!!
