my 4x4 with the 5.4 liter will get about 320 miles of range. with an avg. fuel economy of 15mpg. you've gotten a wonderful truck,,,, but one of its strong points is not gas milage...i hope you enjoy your super crew as much as i do mine. but you'll need a gas card.

Dutchy,
This is nearly the same truck I will be ordering soon, I guess I'm glad your not local to me.
I really liked the pictures, expecially the part about Family 0, Friends 0, ..., Truck 31.

The mileage everyone is getting with these trucks is actually pretty good. The last time I owned a Ford 4x4, it was a 1976 F-150 with a 360ci engine and automatic transmission. That truck got 6 mpg any time the engine was running...lol. What I mean is, 6 mpg on the highway, 6 mpg in the city, 6 mpg loaded, and 6 mpg unloaded.
Soooo, 15-20 mpg sounds real good to me. The 1990 Ford Ranger I have now (38,000 miles) only gets 19 mpg and it has a 4 cylinder engine. There's nothing wrong with trying to get a little extra mileage from your truck, but good driving habits will probably be your best bet. Not to mention you'll be a bit safer than the guys who are doing 80+ mph in their trucks.
Besides, if the price of gas keeps getting higher it'll give you more time to wash and wax your truck...lol. I'd still be excited to get mine if it only got 10 mpg!...lol. Hey, it's only money!

I took Vacation to PA last month and on the trip Avg 18 mpg, with no cover and on one tank of gas got 19.5. That is better than I was getting with my explorer, plus it is more confortable for a long trip.
