Head Rests for the Rear Seat...
I haven't heard of any yet. I think anything is better than nothing and was thinking about having some made with a suction cup and just sticking it to the back window.

Hi, cooper. You know, I was thinking the same thing back when I had my '98 SC. I don't have the rear sliding window, so it shouldn't be too tough.
Picture this: A piece of quarter-inch-thick plywood a little wider than the rear window, flat on the bottom, but wavy on the top for three heads, with quarter-inch thick tough hockey helmet padding glued to one side, covered in vinyl to match the interior colour, screwed to the cab walls at each end of the rear window or stuck on the back window with suction cups so it can be removed and not damage anything.
Anyone built such a thing already?
I'd buy one in an instant if I saw it for sale online. Maybe a new product for that company in Florida that makes OE-style rear-facing third seats for Explorers?

Black 2000 SC short-box XLT. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 limited-slip. CD, remote entry, factory side steps, rear fender inner splash shields (TSB 00-09-05), FORD box liner.
My third F-series. The other two: '73 F-100 Custom, 240 cube 6, 3 on the tree, tan, "West Coast" mirrors, step bumper, knitted vinyl seat, AM radio; and '98 F-150 XL-SC, XLS package, Pacific Green, 4.2 5-speed, 3.55 ls, FM-cassette.
GREAT trucks!

I've seen vinyl padded headrests that suction cup to the back window in an accessory catalog. Not sure if it was J.C. Whitney or who it was. Not too expensive but the only trick is getting a matching or good contrasting color.
Shifter,
Thats about what I had invisioned only seperate, matching the curves of the front seats, instead of one long piece. I have a slider and wouldn't want one in the middle. I like the idea of the suction cups because they would be easy to remove. Not sure how it would work though. Maybe dirvin can find that catalog and i'll start searching the web. I may even run it by a guy whos done some interior work for me in the past and see what he thinks. Heck, maybe i'll make themself and sell. Maybe I can make enough to retire before the guys at Ford catch on.
