Question Drop in Bedliner Question

To all you SuperCrew owners who have a drop in bedliner.
What kind do you have?

How are the cargo tie down brackets handled? Does the bedliner come with large cutouts? Or are the tie down brackets removed before the bedliner is put in, and then put back on, bolted thru the bedliner?

If these bedliners are custom made for the bed, then I would wish that they have small punchouts for the tie down mounting bolts. I would prefer to not have large holes in it that would allow water to get under it.

What do you say?

My drop-in made by 'Custom' has the front brackets accessible via large cutouts. The rear brackets had individual bolt holes so the brackets must be removed and reinstalled after dropping in the liner. Not sure why they did the fronts different than the rears.

Got same deal as Inavarro. Front holdowns have about a 3" whole cut out to get to the holdown and the rear ones are taken off and reinstlled on the outside. They did a real good job. The have there dealership name on it so you know it isn't the cream of the crop, but it works just fine.

I just got the Ford/Duraliner from my dealer yesterday. The tie downs are removed and placed overtop the liner. The tailgate cover is held down using the existing handle access panel bolts, so no drilling there. The bed extender bolt also goes on after the liner. So the only holes exposed are the four holes to lock the bed extender in place, of which two are always in use, depending on if it's open or closed.

I'm happy with the fit and finish of this liner. Cost was $200 and comes with the factory 3/36 warranty with the truck.

Talking

Thanks guys. GO 4D IT! That is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I talked to the parts guy at my dealership, but he said he didn't have any. He quoted me a price of around $300, but He believes that's for the Harley Davidson edition. He suggested some other places that probably carry the Duraliner. But one thing he said was that they come custom with hole cutouts for the tie down brackets. There may have been some confusion of the size of the holes. Anyhow, I will be calling around. Thanks for the info.

You should be able to purchase the Ford/Duraliner from your dealer for around $200. There are no cutouts for the tie downs just holes in the liner to put the bolts through. I am on my second Ford/Duraliner. The first one was too short on the sides and sagged away from the sides of the bed. When you get it installed make sure the liner fits up under the bed rail caps and you will be fine.

My original tie-downs I think were discarded. They were white to match the truck. Now my tie-downs are black to match the bedliner!! I got it from my dealer before I took delivery, and since it was all so new, I paid about $250.

Oh, it's a Ford/Duraliner

T21,
By what I've seen in shopping around, only the Ford/Duraliner from the Ford dealer has the tiedowns installed outside the liner. The Duraliner from an aftermarket store had holes at the tiedowns with caps to cover them when not in use. Not the best idea IMO, but the liner cost less than the Ford one.

If your dealer can't get the liner, go to others in the area. My dealer has a large inventory in stock.
