Talking Rear Bench arm rest

Hey all,

I was just looking at some old pictures I had that I got from this site Gallery, and noticed that it looks like they have a rear center arm rest. Is this included in the Lariet? Or is this just Ford's concept vehicle, but didn't make it to production?

I picked up my XLT yesterday and it has the pull-down center arm rest with cup-holders. Seems pretty nice so far!

I think I figured this out after looking at lost of S-Crews at my local lots: If you get captain's chairs in the front, you get the added benefit of the arm rest in the back.

Unbelievable!!! Thanks Longtime. I guess I didn't think about that. I still think it would be nice to have the center arm rest anyways. You would think that they would only have one style for the rear. Oh, well...

Gregfry, does your center console have cup holders for the rear passengers, or are they only in the rear center armrest?

The rear cupholders are mounted in the rear of the front seat back with bench seating. Otherwise there are 2 in the center arm rest on rear bench seat.

TL: Sounds like Pump has them in the center arm rest and on the back of the front seats?

S-Crews manufactured before 07/10/00 had the fold down rear arm rest with cup holders. S-Crews manufactured after that date have cupholders on the back of the center console and no fold down center arm rest.

Whatever it is you don't want the center arm rest in the back if you ever intend to have anyone in the center seat, it is uncomfortable when the armrest is folded up.
By the way MtnMike, I have an early SCrew (March 2000) and it has no center armrest in the back. I think the determining factor is Captains chairs = rearseat arm rest.

T21,

It appears that the cupholders are only in the rear center armrest. I guess if they made it available in the console it would have taken away from some of the storage space in the console.

When you have the captian chairs the back bench has a center arm rest and the cup holders are in the arm rest.

When you have a front bench then there is no arm rest in the back bench. The cup holders for the back are in the back of the front seat.
