Outside air intake
Here is a question. Our other car is a Ford Focus and we have a button we can press that will block outside air (exhaust fumes) form coming in when you have the fan on.
The truck however only blocks outside air if you select max air condition or the off position for the fan. Has anybody else looked at this (or has anybody even noticed this shortcoming).

What??!?!?!?!
I'm the only person here that thinks it is strange that we cannot run the fan without outside air coming in?
Or are you guys never driving behind anybody with bad oil or diesel fumes?

I guess we just haven't driven in Europe. We are just used to driving the wide open highways of North America sucking in nothing but fresh air.
Seriously I have never had a car that you could shut it off except like you say when using Max A/C.

Orval,
You are right, I don't think there are any "American" made cars that have this option. But that is strange since even in the States there are traffic jams in most of the major cities.
I just wished I could find someway to rig the fan system to block outside air. If anybody has an idea on how to do this???

Dutchy,
I agree. I was annoyed to discover that I cannot run the fan without outside air coming in. The wide open spaces of America are sometimes filled with Godawful smells (at least in L.A.) that I don't care to experience firsthand . Definitely a poor design in my opinion.

The only cars I have seen with the "recirculating air" switch are BMW and Mercedes. Its probably on all the european (& european-spec)cars. It is very handy, especially when going through tunnels. With the SCrew, I have to switch to Max AC and turn up the heat if its cold out.
