Anti-lock brakes work!
These brakes may have saved two lives. I was was driving on the right lane of the highway and a "very" elderly couple from the left lane switched to my lane and stopped! They must have realized they were about to miss their turn and tried to turn right off the road. People were exiting on my right. I had no where to go!
Anyway I stopped 1" from their bumper. I could feel the brakes reacting the whole time! What a BREAK/BRAKE!

When we were first looking into getting a truck, we looked also at the Tundra. Besides the lack of room in back seat and cost, the main thing that turned us off was that ABS was not standard on Tundra. Actually, it is very difficult to even find one with ABS in this part of the country. Once we heard that, Toyota could've given us all the incentives they wanted and it wouldn't be enough. No ABS, no deal. Hello SuperCrew!

Yep, you gotta have these ABS brakes, how else can you stop 2000+ kilo's without using your bumper as a brake.
Have not had to use them yet, but I'm glad both our vehicles have them.

I had them on my old Ranger. Had I not I would have had hit about 3 deer in the last year. They were non-negotaible on the SC.

The company I work for was a pioneer in developing ABS for air-braked trucks. I've worked in all facets of design, build, test, service, and even legal clean-up with that product. Current day units on cars and trucks are ever so much better today then they were even 5 years ago; and I feel much relieved having my wife and kids driving tanks with ABS.
You won't really appreciate them until you have the need to do any braking while on split-coefficient (different traction conditions for left vs right side of vehicle) and afterward when trying to get rid of the shakes from some near-miss realize that without ABS you probably would have spun around or even off the road and crashed.
They're fun to 'play with' in the snow -- which is actually a good thing to try from time to time just to get your brain used to the concept (and the valve ports flushed-out).
I'm still trying to decide whether ABS is predictable enough for the front wheel of my motorcycle (BMW's had them -- perhaps still do) however -- and I did have one occasion where it could have saved me a lot of pain when I fumble-fisted my 'Wing to the wet pavement.
Having ABS on my 95 Ranger, 97 and Y2K F-150's has made me forget what screeching rear wheels on a pickup sound like any more.
