Post LIGHT RATTLE FROM WHEELS AT SLOW SPEEDS?

My wheels make a rattling noise at speeds below 25 mph. Has anyone else heard this at low speeds?

I don't have any of the rattle that you are talking about, but when I am turning or going around a curve, I can hear a popping sound. My rims on my old truck did the same thing, and after four years of frustration, I found the cheapest fix one could only imagine. The problem in both my Screw and my '96 were the center caps "bumping" the rims themselves. My solution was to take small (1/2") strips of electrical tape and place them around the inside of the rim in five or six places. It worked perfectly, but you have to replace them every six months or so, or they will wear through and start popping again. Be sure that you use a good cleaning solvent to remove the excess gunk when replacing them. The only sure fix to never have this problem again is to go with a single piece rim set.

How about this? Apply a thin bead of silicone to the offending rubbing area. Let it set up to firm before replacing the caps. Or maybe put it on the caps themselves.

Don't know if it will work; just an idea.

Same problem, the silicone will still rub through. Great idea and all, but there is virtually nothing that can withstand the grind of metal to metal with out brealing down. That's why the tape works so well, it is easy to clean up, it doesnt stick to your hands, and it is really cheap when compared to trying the silicone.
Thanks though!
